Short-Term Research Stipends in Byzantine Studies - University of Vienna

The Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of the University of Vienna offers Short-Term Research Stipends to enable Byzantinists from Central, Southern, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe to pursue research at its facilities.

Eligibility: Advanced scholars (final year of doctoral study and above) of Byzantine language, history, art and culture.
Preference will be given to scholars from Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Amount: The stipends will offer reimbursement of travel expenses, plus accommodation and meals at a rate of 70 Euros per day, for a maximum of seven days.

Terms: During the time of their visit, scholars are expected to give an informal lunch-time presentation of their current research.
